Originally incorporated on August 29, 2006 as the Auxiliary of St Mary’s Medical Center, Inc, our purpose was to minister to the non-medical needs of the patients of St. Mary’s Medical Center as a public charity. The focus of our organization soon included promoting the health and welfare of the community, while also improving the physical comfort and mental well-being of patients at St. Mary’s Medical Center and encouraging recovery. Services and items provided vary depending on the needs of the patient. Started with an all-volunteer board that continues to this day, community volunteerism is encouraged as an important way to provide reassurance and cheer to hospitalized adults and children.
