Online information and advice about managing your career and making the most out of your time at university. We make it simple – do you want an assessment that may result in a diagnosis or do you just want to know more about the challenges the person is facing at work? Perhaps the person has already been ‘screened’ for a neurodivergent condition and the results show strong indicators that a full assessment may be useful. Sometimes we all need a little help to understand how to support our colleagues at work better. A Neurodiversity Assessment can be a great way of doing that but knowing who to go to and for what type of information can feel like a minefield. Please also be aware that HEE will be unable to optimise your educational support without an Access to Work assessment and the procurement of any recommended learning equipment made by Access to Work.
We encourage open dialogue, and our support services are designed to create a safe space where you can freely discuss your experiences and concerns. People with autism are not always able to assess and understand other people or even their own emotional desires, and often find relationships difficult as a result thereof. Family, friends and romantic partners have expectations that are not always possible to be fulfilled when a person is neurodivergent. As people with autism frequently experience stress and low mood, difficulties in relationships can add to these emotions.
